WELCOME

I was born in Ålesund, but lived here in Skår with three family generations for more than 37 years. I am the oldest of 5 siblings and have four sisters. You might think that growing up in such a remote place with bad infrastructure isn’t possible or enjoyable, but let me tell you it was fantastic! We played with the goats, went fishing, made music together and enjoyed some good food. There was no day where we didn't know what to do.

Look at the map of Skår. Could you imagine that once 35 people lived here? Skår is a small place located between fjords and mountains in the region of Sunnmøre. You can only reach Skår by ferry or private boat, for example from Sæbo. I moved away from Skår in 1986 because my children were growing up and the economy was not so good. So now I live in Sula, but go back to Skår every weekend to develop it, so the tourists can enjoy this fantastic place. Follow me and let me tell you the story of Skår.
